Karin Magno has been involved in animal rescue most of her life. Having grown up in a family that rescued and adopted dogs, she 'rescued' her first puppy at age 7 when she found a neighborhood dog chained to her doghouse with a litter of new puppies. After much begging, she was allowed to keep the puppy, thus beginning a lifelong need to help animals.
A Roanoke, VA native, Karin has been in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley since 2004 where she served as the Volunteer Coordinator at her local SPCA. She's also active with many local and national rescue groups, providing transport, conducting home visits for potential adopters and educating new pet owners. She is a bonded and insured Certified Shelter Canine Trainer and continuously strives to educate herself by taking courses through the Humane Society of the United States, Petfinder, and the ASPCA.
